Denver LGBTQ+ Headshot Photographer | Gender-Affirming, Calm Sessions

Headshots that feel safe, respectful, and human

let's connect

Traditional headshots can feel polished but distantsterile, stiff, and not really you.

Here, your authentic self is the most important part of the image, not your performance.

For many queer and gender-expansive people, being photographed can bring nerves or a fear of being misunderstood — especially during moments of visibility or transition.

You’re not broken for feeling this way.
You’re responding to systems that weren’t built with you in mind.

If you’ve ever felt photographed into a pose instead of into presence, I get it.

The good news is: your photos can feel affirming, grounding, and real.

What if being photographed felt calm instead of tense?

What if you could show up as you aresoft or strong, quiet or playful — and feel supported every step of the way?

These sessions are designed to meet you where you are, whether you’re stepping into something new or simply wanting images that feel honest and familiar.

If you're QTPOC and looking for an affirming photographer, I highly recommend Queer Joy Photo.

"Brody made my first official photoshoot such a warm and safe experience."

This space is for you if you’re:

A high school senior or young adult stepping into a new chapter

An LGBTQ+ professional wanting photos that feel confident and human

A therapist, healer, or care worker seeking images aligned with your values

A creative, artist, or freelancer wanting expressive, authentic portraits

Updating dating photos that feel natural, warm, and true

Exploring or celebrating gender identity or transition

Simply wanting photos where you feel comfortable being yourself

What if your photos reflected who you authentically are right now?

You don’t need a special reason — just a desire to be seen with care.

In their words

-Clare

I often feel awkward and unsure in front of a camera, and they helped me feel safe and comfortable to be myself. My goals for these photos were to be approachable, authentic, and human, and their encouragement and reassurance really supported that, on top of their incredible talent as a photographer.

"Brody did an AMAZING job taking new headshots and professional photos of me!!"

In their words

"Brody is truly one of a kind! "

Their sweet and uplifting energy made our time photographing together feel natural and fun. Being someone who is camera shy, they made me feel at ease in front of the camera and made the whole experience genuinely enjoyable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a photographer who knows how to authentically capture you!

More about brody

I’m a queer, non-binary photographer who understands that there isn’t one right way to be yourself.

My work is grounded in respect for who you are and how you move through the world — emotionally, creatively, and in your own time. I create space where you don’t have to explain or justify yourself, and where you’re met with care rather than assumptions.

I’m here to document you as you are, in all of your nuance and becoming.

Hey, I'm Brody (they/them)

get in touch

The world doesn’t always make space for queer joy.
Your story still deserves to be told.

Whether you’re a queer individual, a couple, or a family, I’m here to photograph you with compassion and care.

Are you ready to step into images that feel true?

faqs

Do you photograph weddings?

Absolutetly. My favorite kind of wedding is a mellow, backyard or chill elopement style wedding, but I am open to many different kind of queer love ceremonies/events. Feel free to reach out via the contact form to see if we may be a good fit for your big day!

What happens after I fill out the contact form?

I’ll personally read your message and respond within 24 hours.
You can expect a thoughtful reply with next steps, session options, and space to ask any questions.

I’m neurodivergent. Can photo sessions be adapted for that?

Yes. Neurodivergence is fully welcome here.
We can talk ahead of time about pacing, sensory needs, communication preferences, and what helps you feel most at ease. Sessions can be structured, flexible, quiet, or brief depending on what supports you best.

What should I wear?

Wear what helps you feel most like yourself.
Comfort and ease matter more than any specific look. Clothes you’ve felt good in before, simple layers, and easy movement tend to work well.

You don’t owe the camera a certain style or gender expression.
If you’d like, you’re welcome to bring several  options and we can decide together. This is another perk of at-home sessions- you have everything you need in your closet!

why does this feel vulnerable?

Being photographed can feel vulnerable — our brains are wired to scan for safety when we’re seen. We’ll move with care, check in often, and adjust the approach as needed.

You’re never expected to push through discomfort. My job is to encourage and reassure you that you are welcome to be yourself here - side notethis is the part I love the most because it can be so healing.

Can I bring a partner, friend, or support person?

Yes.
You’re welcome to bring someone who helps you feel more at ease. They can be present throughout the session or step in and out as needed — whatever feels most supportive to you.

Are all images really included?

Totally.
You’ll receive your online photo gallery that is thoughtfully edited and complete. There are no selections, upsells, or additional purchases. Your images are yours to keep.

Do you share images publicly?

Only with your permission.
Nothing is ever posted without a clear yes. If you’re open to it, I may reach out after you’ve seen your gallery to ask about sharing a few images — often to help other queer folks see themselves reflected and feel welcomed here. It’s always optional.
